Tee Off for a Cause: No Salt Sailing Golf Outing Fundraiser 9/12
Are you ready to swing your clubs for a great cause? No Salt Sailing, a Chicago organization dedicated to teaching Veterans and their families how to sail for free, is hosting its annual golf outing fundraiser. The organization’s mission is rooted in the belief that sailing can be a powerful tool to help people overcome PTSD.
This year’s event will take place on Friday, September 12th, on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Sydney Marovitz Golf Course, followed by a reception at The Reservoir restaurant. The day is packed with fun, including golf, raffles, and a reception.
“Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just want to enjoy the fun, join us for a day of camaraderie and giving back, with options for golf, the reception, or even sponsoring a veteran’s entry!” says event organizer and No Salt Sailing founder, Captain William Shehan.

The event will also feature:
· A taste of the sea: Cape Horn Tequila (Veteran-made, sailor-approved) will be on-site with tastings.
· Amazing prizes:
Silent auction items:
– A 12-person charter with Captain from Knot My Boat
– An overnight, luxury stay at the Gwen Hotel downtown with dinner
– A pet photoshoot from Sutton Studios
– A 34-person charter on a custom FunBoat, Tilly’s Dream!

Raffle items:
– A projector and screen
– A fireboat tour
– Tickets to the Aragon Ballroom and more
Captain Brady Ruel, a participant from last year’s event, perfectly captures the spirit of the day: “Talking boats with boaters while golfing along Lake Michigan for a good cause. It doesn’t get any better than that!”
Your participation and support directly help No Salt Sailing continue to offer free sailing classes to Veterans and their families. To learn more and get your tickets, visit the event page here: Charity to help Veterans Golf Event – 2025
