What Does a Captain Want for Christmas?

We asked our Boat Safe Chicago captains to dream big. If money were no object and Santa were delivering by sea (or land), what would be under the tree?

The answers range from “high-tech” to “high-proof!”

Captain Aaron (The Family Fisherman): Living on the Michigan side of the lake, Aaron is eyeing a Tiara yacht, fully rigged for Great Lakes trolling. Since these beauties are built right in Holland, MI, it’s the perfect local vessel for fishing the summer away with his family.

Captain Ben (The Safety Pro): Ben lives and breathes maritime safety. His wish list is practical but essential: a high-spec EPIRB or a professional-grade life raft. These are the most critical items for anyone heading offshore—safety never takes a holiday!

Captain Jeff (The Crowd Favorite): Whether he’s leading on-water classes or hosting charters, Jeff is known for his infectious, fun-loving personality and his unwavering focus on safety. His dream? A shiny, new, bright red pickup truck to cruise in style between his many outings with the repeat clients who adore him.

Captain Rick (The Hobby Farmer): When he’s not on the water, Rick is tending to his farm in Michigan. His dream gift? A top-of-the-line drone with thermal imaging to monitor his livestock and crops. The best part? His wife is his biggest cheerleader, fully supporting his high-tech farming dreams!

Captain Arlo (The Classic): Arlo’s dream gift is a bit simpler…and spirited. His choice? A bottle of Captain Morgan. 

Because, as the saying goes, there’s a little Captain in all of us—and it’s always better when shared with friends.
